Chatra Accident: Two Friends Killed in Motorcycle Crash
In a tragic incident on Saturday night, two youths lost their lives after their motorcycle went out of control and collided with a barricade near the Jabra check post on the Simaria-Bagra-Ranchi main road in Chatra district. The accident occurred under the Simaria police station limits.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Ganesh Bhuiyan (18) and Basant Bhuiyan (20), both residents of Dundua village. According to police, the two friends were returning home on a motorcycle after purchasing items from the market when the accident happened.
Police Statement
Simaria police station in-charge Suryapratap Singh said, “The injured were rushed to Simaria Referral Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.” The bodies were later sent to Chatra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Singh added that a preliminary investigation pointed to excessive speed as the cause of the crash and noted that neither of the two youths was wearing a helmet.
Local Allegations
Local residents alleged that the victims were also under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. They claimed the collision caused severe head injuries, leading to instant death.
Demand for Road Safety
Following the deaths, villagers gathered at the hospital and demanded strict road safety measures and monitoring of speeding vehicles on the route. The incident has highlighted the need for better enforcement of traffic rules in the area.
