Mumbai: To accommodate the surge in travel demand during the Indian Premier League (IPL) final match scheduled on Sunday, Western Railway has announced the operation of two special-fare trains connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad. A senior official from Western Railway confirmed the development, stating that these services are aimed at providing convenient travel options for cricket enthusiasts.
Details of the Special Trains
The first train, designated as Train No. 09021 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad AC Superfast Special, will depart from Mumbai Central at 6:20 AM on Sunday and is scheduled to arrive at Ahmedabad Junction at 12:40 PM. This service is designed for passengers traveling to the match venue.
For the return journey after the match, Train No. 09044 Ahmedabad-Bandra Terminus Special will operate. It will leave Ahmedabad on June 1 at 3:50 AM and reach Bandra Terminus at 12:15 PM the same day, ensuring fans can return comfortably after the event.
Booking Information
The booking for these special trains will open on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters across the network and through the official IRCTC website. The official urged passengers to book early to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
These special services are part of Western Railway's efforts to manage the extra rush during major sporting events. Passengers are advised to check the exact timings and availability on the IRCTC portal or at their nearest railway station.
