The highly anticipated clash between India and New Zealand is scheduled for January 11 at the Kotambi International Cricket Stadium, marking a significant return of top-tier international cricket to the city.

The excitement reached a fever pitch on Wednesday when Indian cricket superstars Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill landed in the city. A large and enthusiastic crowd gathered at Harni airport just to catch a glimpse of the celebrated players. Several other cricketers from both the Indian and New Zealand squads have also started arriving, adding to the pre-match buildup.

"We have coordinated closely with police officials regarding traffic, safety, and highway management. The BCCI is also very happy with the stadium," Amin stated. He also expressed regret for fans who couldn't get tickets, citing the city's large population against the stadium's limited capacity of approximately 30,000 seats.

Amin highlighted that a successful execution of this ODI could pave the way for Vadodara to host more international matches in the future. However, a key challenge remains managing the traffic on the busy Halol highway. With thousands of spectators expected to commute to the stadium, police authorities have been tasked with ensuring smooth vehicular movement and preventing major congestion before and after the match.
