Cricketer Rinku Singh's Father Khanchand Singh Passes Away at 60 After Prolonged Illness
In a sad development, Khanchand Singh, the father of Team India cricketer Rinku Singh, passed away on Friday morning following a prolonged illness. He was 60 years old. His health had been declining in recent days, leading to his transfer on February 21 from Aligarh to a private hospital in Greater Noida, where he was placed on ventilator support.
Funeral Held in Aligarh with Public Attendance
The body of Khanchand Singh was brought to Aligarh for the last rites. The funeral was conducted at Rotary Shishu Moksh Dham, with attendance from public representatives and prominent citizens of the district. Rinku Singh, who was part of the men's T20 World Cup squad, returned from Chennai to pay his respects and carried his father's bier during the ceremony.
A large gathering of relatives, residents, and well-wishers joined the funeral procession, showing solidarity with the grieving family. Family members revealed that upon learning of his father's deteriorating health, Rinku had briefly returned home during the tournament to be with him.
