This year's prize money represents a significant 10 per cent increase compared to the previous edition held in the UAE, which had a total purse of USD 7,958,077 (around Rs 74 crore). The ICC's commitment to elevating women's cricket is evident through this substantial financial boost.

Tournament Expansion and Schedule

The 2026 Women's T20 World Cup will witness a major expansion, growing from 10 to 12 participating teams. The tournament is scheduled to run from June 12 to July 5 across seven venues in England and Wales, with the prestigious final set to take place at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

The ICC has provided a comprehensive breakdown of how the record prize money will be distributed:

  • The champions will receive USD 2.34 million (about Rs 21.8 crore)
  • The runners-up will earn USD 1.17 million (around Rs 10 crore)
  • Semi-finalists will take home USD 675,000 (approximately Rs 6.29 crore)
  • Each group-stage victory will be worth USD 31,154 (close to Rs 29 lakh)

In a significant development, all 12 participating teams will receive an assured minimum prize pot of USD 247,500 (Rs 2.06 crore approximately), ensuring financial recognition for every competing nation.

The tournament will commence with hosts England facing Sri Lanka at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on June 12. The complete lineup of participating teams includes:
