The Shimla Met Office has issued an orange alert for hailstorms, thunderstorms, and gusty winds at isolated places across Himachal Pradesh for Tuesday and Wednesday. Officials said the Met Office has also forecast a wet spell in the state until May 3.

An orange alert for hailstorms, thunderstorms with lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour has been issued for isolated places. On Tuesday, the alert covers the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla. On Wednesday, the warning extends to Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla.
Recent Weather Conditions
Dry weather prevailed across the state over the past 24 hours since Sunday evening. Meanwhile, a heat wave was recorded in Una and Bhuntar, which reported high temperatures. Kukumseri was the coldest location at night, recording a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day with a high of 42 degrees Celsius.
Residents and travelers are advised to take necessary precautions, avoid open areas during thunderstorms, and stay updated with local weather reports. The wet spell is expected to bring relief from the heat but may also cause localized disruptions.
