Five Madhya Pradesh Girls Earn Spots in BCCI Under-19 Elite Camps
In a significant development for women's cricket in the state, five young players from Madhya Pradesh have been selected for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Under-19 Girls Elite Camps. This selection underscores the steady rise of talent from the region at the national level, marking a promising future for the sport locally.
First Phase Camp in Bengaluru Features Two Standouts
Seventeen-year-old Anaadi Tagde from Indore and Ishana Swami from Ujjain will participate in the elite camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, scheduled from April 27 to May 23. Anaadi, a promising pace bowler, has already made a notable impact in domestic cricket. At just 16, she delivered an exceptional spell of six wickets for eight runs, including a hat-trick, in a Women's Under-19 T20 Trophy match, which led to the opposition being bundled out for 31. Her pace and ability to strike early have firmly placed her on the radar of national selectors.
Ishana Swami, a right-handed batter, has impressed with consistent performances in Under-19 domestic tournaments. She has demonstrated adaptability across the batting order, delivering solid contributions in top, middle, and lower-order roles, showcasing her versatility and skill.
Second Phase Camp in Surat Includes Three More Talents
Three additional players, Aayushi Shukla, Mahi Thakur, and Tamanna Chaudhary, have been selected for the second phase of the Under-19 Girls Elite Camp in Surat, which will run from May 11 to June 9. Eighteen-year-old Aayushi Shukla from Indore has already gained recognition on the international stage. She emerged as one of India's leading wicket-takers in the Under-19 World Cup held in Kuala Lumpur, claiming 14 wickets and securing a place in the 'Team of the Tournament'. Additionally, she topped the wicket charts in the Under-19 Asia Cup, highlighting her consistency and match-winning ability.
Mahi Thakur, an all-rounder from the Narmadapuram division, has contributed effectively with both bat and medium pace, while Tamanna Chaudhary from Indore, an opening batter, has delivered steady performances in Under-23 and Under-19 competitions, adding depth to the state's cricketing prospects.

MPCA joint secretary Arundhati Kirkire commented on the selections, stating, "This is a great opportunity for these young players who have performed consistently in domestic cricket.
