The Miami Dolphins have struggled on the field in recent seasons, failing to qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive year. With a record of just 7 wins and 10 losses last season, all eyes are on how the team plans to bounce back in the upcoming campaign.
Miami Dolphins Tipped to Pursue San Francisco 49ers' Star Brandon Aiyuk
According to a recent report from Bleacher Report's Julia Stumbaugh, the Miami Dolphins could make a move for San Francisco 49ers' standout wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Stumbaugh noted, "Another team where Aiyuk could potentially slot in as a WR1 are the Miami Dolphins, who have three wide receivers with relatively limited recent production in Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell." She added, "The Dolphins could be looking to add a more experienced option for Malik Willis ahead of his first full campaign as starting quarterback." However, the Dolphins have not yet responded to the trade speculation.
49ers Open to Trade Talks
Brandon Aiyuk remains with the San Francisco 49ers even after the NFL Draft. The team's general manager, John Lynch, has indicated that they are open to exploring trade options. As reported by NFL.com, Lynch stated, "We're available. Give us a call…" He elaborated, "He's an extremely talented player. He's been an extremely effective player in our league — situation didn't work itself out here. That's not to say that it can't be rekindled somewhere else. And we'd be happy to do something with anyone if the opportunity presented itself."
Brandon Aiyuk's Recent Struggles
Over the last few seasons, Brandon Aiyuk has faced challenges on the field due to significant injuries. Just days after signing a massive $120 million extension with the San Francisco 49ers in 2024, Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL during a game against the Chiefs, ruling him out for the remainder of the season. He finished the 2024 campaign with 25 receptions for 374 yards in seven games, with hopes of a strong comeback. Despite positive progress reports and hints from John Lynch about his recovery, Aiyuk was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on July 18, 2025. While the last two seasons have been brutal for him, all eyes are on where Brandon Aiyuk will land next season.
