Litton Das 5th Test Century: Reaches 3000 Runs

Litton Das Shines with Fifth Test Century and 3000-Run Milestone

Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das cemented his growing stature in international cricket by scoring his fifth Test century on Day 2 of the second Test against Ireland. The match is being held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. This significant knock also propelled him past the milestone of 3,000 runs in Test cricket, marking a glorious chapter in his professional journey.

From Domestic Circuits to a Multi-Million Dollar Empire

Litton Das's current net worth is estimated to be a staggering $3 million, as per data from CricTracker. He stands as one of Bangladesh's highest-paid cricketers. His annual earnings include an approximate $50,000 from his central contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

This is supplemented by substantial match fees:

  • $2,500 per Test match
  • $1,500 per One Day International (ODI)
  • $1,000 per T20 International (T20I)

His financial portfolio also boasts impressive T20 league earnings. He earned ₹50 lakh with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 IPL season and $80,000 from the Dhaka Capitals in the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). These earnings have allowed him to invest in a house in Dhaka and a collection of luxury vehicles.

The Making of Bangladesh's Next Cricket Star

Litton Das first caught the public eye with his strong performances in the 2012 and 2014 U19 World Cups, earning him the tag of the next star in Bangladesh cricket. He joined the senior national team after proving his mettle for Abahani in the Dhaka Premier League and for Rangpur Division in the 2014-15 National Cricket League, where he finished as the top scorer.

His international career, however, required patience. He made his Test debut against India in June 2015, scoring a brisk 44. After spending two years outside the national setup, 2018 became a breakthrough year. He scored a solid 94 against Sri Lanka, his first T20I fifty against the West Indies, and his maiden ODI century against India in the Asia Cup.

His first Test century finally arrived six years after his debut, a 114 against Pakistan in Chattogram in 2021. He quickly built on that success with centuries against New Zealand (102) and Sri Lanka (141). His consistent performance led to him replacing Mushfiqur Rahim as the primary wicketkeeper and, more recently, being announced as the T20I captain for Bangladesh until the next T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
