Helmet-Shaped Traffic Post Inaugurated in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: In a unique initiative, a traffic post designed in the shape of a helmet was inaugurated near the Gol Building here on Saturday. The facility was opened by SSP Prabhat Kumar, who emphasized that wearing a helmet is the first and most important condition for ensuring safety on roads.

Symbol of Road Safety

SSP Kumar said the helmet-themed traffic post has been developed not only as a functional management facility but also as a symbol of road safety. He noted that the unique design is intended to encourage two-wheeler riders to adopt the habit of wearing helmets regularly.

“Helmets play a crucial role in protecting the head during road accidents and often save lives. Every motorcycle rider should wear a helmet at all times while on the road,” the SSP said.

Durable and Weather-Friendly Construction

He further said that the traffic post has been constructed using special polymer material and reinforced glass, making it highly durable and weather-friendly. The structure will remain comparatively cooler during summer and warmer in winter, providing a better working environment for traffic personnel deployed at the post.

Officials said the innovative facility will not only serve as a traffic control point but is also expected to act as a constant visual reminder for commuters about the importance of road safety. Residents and commuters welcomed the initiative and praised the police for adopting a creative approach to public awareness. Many people said that the traffic post will attract attention and motivate more riders to wear helmets regularly.

Reducing Fatalities

Police officers hoped the new traffic post will not only strengthen traffic management in the busy area but also contribute significantly to reducing fatalities by encouraging responsible driving behavior.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by SP (city) Ritwik Srivastava, SP (rural) S Mohammad Yaqub, DSP (traffic) Rohit Kumar Soye, along with several police officers and traffic personnel.
