Desai brings over two decades of international coaching experience, with a strong track record in Associate cricket. One of his most notable accomplishments was with Nepal, where he guided the team to regain ODI status and qualify for multiple ICC global events.

Announcing the appointment, Cricket Canada president Arvinder Khosa emphasized the importance of a long-term vision and structural growth.
