Patna: Three people, including a CISF jawan and his wife, were killed in a tragic road accident in Khagaria district on Thursday morning. A truck loaded with stone chips lost control and overturned onto the auto-rickshaw they were traveling in.
Details of the Incident
The accident occurred around 5:30 AM on National Highway 31 near Gauchhari Dhala under the Maheshkhunt police station area. The deceased were identified as CISF head constable Bipin Chaurasia (45), his wife Deepmala Chaurasia (41), and the auto driver, Tankesh Muni (32). The couple were residents of Maliya village under Gogri police station area.
Rescue Operation
Maheshkhunt SHO Mithilesh Kumar said the bodies had to be retrieved using an earthmover machine due to the severity of the crash. The truck, loaded with stone chips, had overturned completely onto the auto-rickshaw, crushing it.
Victim's Background
Bipin Chaurasia was posted in Durgapur, West Bengal, and had returned home after two years to attend a wedding in Munger. He had reached his village on Wednesday evening and was on his way to Mansi railway station early Thursday morning to resume duty when the accident occurred. Chaurasia is survived by a son and a daughter. His wife, Deepmala, was a government school teacher in Jharkhand.
Police Investigation
Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. The driver of the truck is absconding. Further details are awaited.
