A car caught fire near a petrol pump in Nakodar, Jalandhar, on Tuesday evening, causing panic among locals. The driver, identified as Ravi Kumar, was rescued safely by bystanders before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM when the car, a Maruti Suzuki Swift, suddenly emitted smoke from its engine while passing near a petrol pump on the Nakodar-Jalandhar road. Within minutes, flames erupted from the front of the vehicle, prompting the driver to stop and exit the car immediately.

Rescue Operation

Local residents and passersby quickly gathered at the scene and helped the driver move to a safe distance. They also alerted the fire department, which arrived within 15 minutes. The fire brigade personnel extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the nearby petrol pump and other vehicles.
