A special felicitation ceremony was held at Vidyut Bhawan to recognise Roy's achievement of being named the 'Player of the Tournament' in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) for the 2025-26 season.

The sentiment was echoed by Manoj Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Energy Department and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BSPHCL, who welcomed Roy. Singh remarked that it was a "matter of pride for all of us" that an individual from within their organisation was receiving such a high sporting honour for his excellent performance.
