Belagavi Police Launch Helmet Awareness Campaign

Belagavi: Belagavi North Zone IGP Sandeep Patil launched a week-long ‘helmet awareness campaign’ at Rani Channamma Circle in the city on Monday. The campaign aims to save the lives of bikers and make the use of helmets mandatory.

Campaign Launch

City police commissioner Bhushan Borase, district SP K Ramarajan, ZP CEO Rahul Shinde, and other officials were present at the launch. As part of the campaign, pamphlets were distributed to bikers highlighting the benefits of wearing helmets.

Petrol Pump Cooperation

Petrol pump owners have also been requested not to supply petrol to those without helmets. Every citizen should actively participate in the campaign to make Belagavi an accident-free city.

IGP's Statement

IGP Sandeep Patil said that accidents cannot be prevented unless the public takes precautions. “If we look at the statistics of the last three years in the northern zone districts of Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Dharwad and Gadag, an average of about 2,000 fatal accidents occur every year. Obeying road safety rules is a responsibility to protect our lives and that of our families. Let us all drive responsibly,” he added.
