Authorities believe the blaring sound from a DJ system installed at the cricket venue agitated a nearby beehive, which was situated close to a roadside food stall. The loud noise apparently provoked the bees, causing them to swarm aggressively toward the crowd gathered to watch the match.
The local sarpanch had organized the cricket event, which initially featured a celebratory atmosphere. One victim has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the District General Hospital, where they are receiving critical care.
