Indian badminton legend Saina Nehwal and Danish sporting icon Peter Gade are poised to lead a major international badminton initiative in the national capital. The event, named The Legends' Vision – Legacy Tour India, focuses on nurturing the sport through community engagement, youth development programs, and local partnerships.
Return to India After Eight Years
The Legacy Tour makes its much-anticipated return to India after an eight-year hiatus. The two-day spectacle is scheduled to take place on November 23 and 24 at the renowned Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi. This global initiative is dedicated to promoting badminton at the grassroots level.
Expressing her enthusiasm, London Olympics bronze-medallist Saina Nehwal stated her delight in bringing the tour back to her home country. She is joined by Olympic champion Carolina Marin as one of the newest Legends associated with the platform. Nehwal emphasized that badminton has given her everything in life and finds it special to return to the court in a role that inspires the next generation of players.
Interactive Sessions and Outreach Programs
The first day of the event, November 23, will be packed with activities designed for young enthusiasts. It will feature interactive junior exhibitions where participants can watch and learn from Saina, Gade, and other Legends' Vision Ambassadors. The day will also mark the official Indian launch of 'A Racquet's Second Life', a significant program initiative.
Peter Gade, the celebrated 1999 All England Champion, commented on the tour's mission, stating that it has always been about giving back to the global badminton community. He expressed pride in seeing the message and impact of the program continue to expand.
On the second day, November 24, the action will extend beyond the sports complex. A series of outreach activities are planned across the Delhi-NCR region, offering fans a unique opportunity to meet their heroes, Saina Nehwal and Peter Gade, in person.
