Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Addresses TOISA 2025 in Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a keynote speech at the Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) 2025 ceremony held in Lucknow, focusing on the transformative power of sports in society. He commended athletes for their outstanding performances over the past year, highlighting their contributions to India's global sporting reputation.
Infrastructure Development and Grassroots Initiatives
CM Adityanath detailed significant advancements in sports infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh, noting systematic efforts to establish training and competition facilities in every district. "Over the past 11–12 years, a robust sports culture has flourished nationwide. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, we have accelerated this momentum in Uttar Pradesh since 2017," he stated.
The Chief Minister outlined key grassroots measures, including a mandate for playgrounds in all villages under more than 57,000 gram panchayats. "We have ensured budgetary allocations for mini stadiums at the block level, with large stadium projects underway at the district level," he added, emphasizing multi-tiered administrative support.
Institutional and State-Level Achievements
Adityanath highlighted the operationalization of the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut as a cornerstone of institutional development. He praised athletes from Uttar Pradesh excelling in diverse disciplines such as cricket, hockey, athletics, and para-sports, attributing their success to the state's evolving sports ecosystem.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of youth engagement, advocating for enhanced opportunities for young athletes to compete and advance. He congratulated all TOISA 2025 awardees and participants, recognizing their dedication and hard work.

In his concluding remarks, CM Adityanath reaffirmed the state government's commitment to bolstering the sports framework. "We are dedicated to supporting athletes in achieving excellence at national and international levels, ensuring Uttar Pradesh remains a hub for sporting talent," he asserted, underscoring ongoing investments in talent identification and development programs.
