The Tamil Nadu police force has once again demonstrated its commitment to sporting excellence by securing an impressive nine medals at the 74th All India Police Athletics Team Championship. This prestigious event was held recently at the PAP Headquarters in Jalandhar, Punjab, from March 7 to 12, showcasing the athletic prowess of police personnel from across the nation.

Outstanding Performance by State Contingent

A dedicated team of 46 officers and personnel from Tamil Nadu participated in various athletics and cycling events, competing against top police athletes from other states. Their hard work and discipline paid off as they clinched a total of three gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals. This achievement highlights the state's strong presence in national police sports and underscores the balance between rigorous security duties and competitive athletic pursuits.

Felicitation Ceremony Honors Medallists

To celebrate this significant success, Director General of Police (DGP) K Venkataraman organized a special felicitation ceremony on Monday at the DGP Headquarters in Chennai. During the event, DGP Venkataraman personally congratulated all the medallists and participants, commending their dedication and the pride they have brought to the Tamil Nadu police department. Joining DGP Venkataraman at the ceremony were B Bala Naga Devi, Director General of Police (State Intelligence), and other senior police officials.
