Nagpur: Demonstrating extreme endurance, Nagpur biker Ashish Rawale completed a non-stop 42-hour motorcycle ride from Leh to Nagpur to promote road safety, physical fitness, and responsible adventure tourism. The journey began from Nagpur on May 25, with Rawale reaching Delhi the same day. On May 26, he continued to Sarchu before arriving in Leh on May 27.
Challenging Terrain and High-Altitude Passes
During the expedition, he traversed some of the world's highest and most challenging motorable roads, including Khardung La and Umling La. Rawale said he is the first biker from the Vidarbha region to successfully reach the demanding Mig La Pass, a route known for its harsh weather conditions, difficult terrain, and high-altitude challenges. After completing the Himalayan leg of the journey, Rawale embarked on the return ride from Leh to Nagpur, covering the distance nonstop in 42 hours. The feat tested both his physical endurance and mental resilience, requiring meticulous planning, preparation, and riding discipline.
Promoting Safety Over Speed
Rawale said his primary aim was to encourage riders to prioritize safety over speed. He stressed that adventure riding should not be associated with reckless driving and urged motorcyclists to wear helmets and protective riding gear, follow traffic regulations, and avoid dangerous riding practices. "True strength is not measured by the distance we cover, but by our commitment to fitness, safety, and continuous self-improvement," Rawale said.
Men's Health Week and Responsible Tourism
The ride also coincided with Men's Health Week, allowing Rawale to highlight the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being. He noted that long-distance riding demands regular exercise, a healthy diet, discipline, and mental strength. Rawale also used the expedition to promote the concept of "Incredible India" by encouraging responsible tourism. He said India's diverse landscapes, natural beauty, and adventure destinations should be explored safely while respecting local communities and the environment.
