Edoardo Mortara Creates Formula E History with Landmark Race Podium Streak

Mahindra Racing driver Edoardo Mortara has carved his name into Formula E history books with a remarkable achievement. The Swiss-Italian-French racing star has now secured podium finishes in every single landmark race throughout the championship's existence.

A Consistent Performer in Championship Milestones

Mortara's unique accomplishment spans three significant Formula E milestones. He previously won both the 50th and 100th races of the all-electric racing series. While victory eluded him in the recent 150th race held in Mexico City, Mortara still managed to finish second, thereby maintaining his perfect podium record in landmark events.

The Mexico City E-Prix marked Formula E's 150th race celebration. Citroen Racing's Nick Cassidy claimed victory in this historic event, with Mortara securing second place and Oliver Rowland completing the podium in third position.

Team and Fan Reactions to Historic Achievement

Mahindra Racing proudly highlighted Mortara's special accomplishment through their official social media channels. The team posted: "@edomortara has stood on the podium for every one of @fiaformulae's landmark races."

Formula E's official Instagram account responded with enthusiastic praise, commenting: "What an achievement." Fans echoed this sentiment across social media platforms, with one supporter describing Mortara as "simply the best" while another called his feat "amazing."

Mortara Reveals Stressful Final Laps in Mexico

In an exclusive interview with FormulaE.com, Mortara opened up about the challenges he faced during the Mexico City E-Prix. The 39-year-old driver described the race as particularly demanding, especially during the closing stages.

"It was extremely stressful, especially the last ten to fifteen laps," Mortara revealed. "I started struggling with my car around the middle of the race, just as Nick Cassidy created a gap while using Attack Mode. We spent considerable energy closing that gap, which left me with less energy than others toward the end."

Mortara continued: "I was lucky to have Attack Mode available, which helps with traction and overtaking. But I can tell you that the last lap was not fun. I had Oli Rowland behind me, who is always pretty feisty and looking to overtake. In the end, we managed to stay in front and secure P2."

Strong Qualifying Leads to Podium Finish

Mortara's podium performance followed an impressive qualifying session in Mexico City. He secured third position on the starting grid, then capitalized on this strong starting position throughout the race. His second-place finish has now moved him up to fifth position in the current Formula E Drivers' Championship standings.

This consistent performance across Formula E's landmark races demonstrates Mortara's exceptional skill and resilience under pressure. His achievement stands as a testament to both his driving ability and the competitive performance of the Mahindra Racing team throughout the championship's history.
