Young athletes from the Rajasthan Squash Academy in Jaipur delivered a spectacular performance at a prestigious national tournament, showcasing the state's growing prowess in the sport.

Jaipur Squash Stars Shine on Mumbai Courts

The 80th CCI Western India Squash Championship, held in Mumbai, witnessed a dominant display by players representing the Rajasthan Squash Academy. The contingent from Jaipur returned home with an impressive haul of five medals, which included two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals across various junior categories. The results were announced in a press release issued by the academy's director, Surbhi Misra, on Monday.

Gold Medal Glory for Young Champions

The gold medal victories were spearheaded by two exceptional young players. Dhairya Gogia triumphed in the Under-13 boys' category, defeating Maharashtra's Aeron Arambhan in a commanding performance. The final scoreline read 11-5, 17-15, 11-5 in Gogia's favor.

Adding to the gold rush was Amay Mahajan, who clinched the top spot in the mixed Under-9 category. Mahajan secured his victory over Vaibhav VC with scores of 11-9, 11-3, 11-5, demonstrating remarkable skill for his age.

Silver and Bronze Add to Medal Tally

The academy's success was further cemented by strong performances yielding silver and bronze medals. Farid Andrabi put up a valiant fight in the Under-15 boys' final but had to settle for a silver medal after losing to Maharashtra's Vivaan Khanna. The closely contested match ended 5-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.

The bronze medals were secured through determined efforts in third-place playoffs. Divyanshi Jain earned bronze in the Under-15 girls' category by edging past Maharashtra's Aashi Shah 14-12, 13-11, 11-6. In the Under-11 boys' category, Yuvan Verma staged a fantastic comeback to win bronze. After losing the first game, Verma rallied to oust Delhi's Rudransh Prabhakar 5-11, 11-5, 15-17, 11-5, 11-6 in a thrilling five-game encounter.

Strong Finishes Across Categories

The academy's depth was evident as several other players secured commendable fifth-place finishes in their respective events. Gauri Jaiswal finished fifth in the U-15 girls, Inaya Andrabi in the U-11 girls, and Lakshanya Rajawat in the U-9 mixed category. These results highlight the strong training foundation and competitive spirit nurtured at the Rajasthan Squash Academy.

This outstanding collective achievement at one of the region's most traditional tournaments signals the rise of Jaipur and Rajasthan as a new hub for squash talent in India.
