Indian Squash Stars Shine at JSW Indian Open 2026 Quarterfinals

India showcased a formidable performance at the JSW Indian Open 2026, with multiple players securing spots in the semifinals after impressive victories in the quarterfinals held in Mumbai on Friday. Men's Quarterfinals: Singh and Chotrani Dominate

In the men's singles, second seed Abhay Singh and fourth seed Veer Chotrani delivered commanding performances to advance to the semifinals. Singh displayed excellent form, defeating Egypt's Yassin Shohdy with a score of 3-1 (11-8, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7). In the upcoming semifinals, Singh will face Malaysia's Ameeshenraj Chandaran, who advanced after defeating compatriot Duncan Lee. Chotrani is set to take on another Malaysian, Sanjay Jeeva, who secured his spot with a 3-0 victory over Egypt's Ibrahim El Kabbani.

Women's Quarterfinals: Anahat and Tanvi Lead Indian Charge

The women's singles saw top seed Anahat Singh and unseeded compatriot Tanvi Khanna ensuring a strong Indian presence in the semifinals. Anahat underlined her title contender status with a dominant 3-0 win over Malaysia's Sehveetrraa Kumar, scoring 11-2, 11-6, 11-4. However, there was a setback for Indian fans as local favourite Joshna Chinappa bowed out after a 1-3 defeat to Egypt's Nadien El Hammamy. In another quarterfinal, second seed Hana Moataz edged past Malaysia's Yasshmita Jadishkumar in a five-game thriller.
