Chhattisgarh's young kickboxers delivered an outstanding performance at the five-day National Junior Kickboxing Championship, which concluded on June 3 in Odisha. The state contingent secured a total of 30 medals, comprising five gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze, showcasing their prowess in various disciplines.
Tournament Overview
The championship was organized by the Odisha Kickboxing Association under the aegis of the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation. It witnessed participation from 650 players and 200 officials representing states across the country, making it a highly competitive event.
According to Tarkesh Mishra, executive president of the Chhattisgarh Kickboxing Association, a 48-member contingent represented the state. This included 39 junior boys and girls, along with nine officials, coaches, and referees. Athletes competed across multiple disciplines and weight categories such as Point Fighting, Light Contact, Kick Light, Full Contact, Low Kick, K-1, Musical Forms, and Creative Forms.

The medal winners hailed from various districts including Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Surguja, Mungeli, Baloda Bazar, and Durg, reflecting the widespread talent in the state.

Bronze medals were awarded to Yashvardhan Dubey, Mohd Asim, Bhavik Goyal, Yogesh Yadav, Dhairya Singh, Surbhi Tamrakar, Naman Prajapati, Vasu Tanti, Nilesh Joshi, Ayush Singh, and Hariom Bunker.
