Cameron Brink Fronts The Strength Issue in a Bold Fashion Statement
Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink is capturing widespread attention with her latest editorial project. The 24-year-old basketball star takes center stage in The Strength Issue, a collaborative initiative between skincare brand Aveeno and media company TOGETHXR that spans across women's sports. In striking visuals, Brink is styled in a sleek black mini dress paired with knee-high heeled boots, dribbling a basketball while wearing square-framed glasses, blending athleticism with high fashion.
Overcoming Adversity and Redefining Strength
Brink's career has been marked by resilience, particularly after suffering a season-ending ACL tear in 2024. She made a triumphant return to the court in July 2025, averaging 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds during the regular season. Reflecting on this challenging period, Brink shared insights with SI Lifestyle, emphasizing how the injury transformed her perspective on strength.
"My injury taught me that true strength lies in actively practicing patience," Brink explained. "I had always considered myself a patient person, but that experience challenged me in ways I didn't expect. Sitting on the sidelines to cheer on teammates, knowing I wasn't going to step back into the game, makes you invest in a different way. Through investing in others, I learned what it really means to be a good teammate and how to be there for others."
She further elaborated on the importance of teamwork, stating, "Ultimately, I play a team sport, so pouring into others makes me feel like the best version of myself, which is where I find my strength."
Embracing Femininity and Personal Passions
In The Strength Issue, Brink addresses the tension athletes often face when expressing style in competitive environments. "When people see my femininity, they question my focus," she said, challenging outdated assumptions in women's sports. On Instagram, she expressed excitement about the project, writing, "Strength is more than what you see on the court. I'm so excited to be part of The Strength Issue presented by @aveenous and @togethxr and share my story. Embracing every part of who I am, on and off the court, is what helps me feel strong in my own skin."
Brink also highlighted how her interests beyond basketball contribute to her identity. "Also, learning who I am beyond the game has also strengthened me," she added. "I refuse to reduce myself to being just a basketball player. I have other passions—like fashion and beauty—and it's through those passions that I grow and fully experience my femininity, which I see as a great source of my strength as well. I don't want my femininity to be mistaken for a lack of power. Femininity and intensity are not mutually exclusive; being both feminine and serious is my truest form of self-expression, especially as an athlete."
Collaborative Project with Fellow Athletes
The Strength Issue features Brink alongside other notable athletes, including Misty Copeland, Sophia Wilson, and Paralympic swimmer Ali Truwit. Each participant brings a unique narrative shaped by personal challenges and comebacks, collectively showcasing diverse forms of resilience and empowerment in sports.
Personal Life: Romance with Fiancé Ben Felter
Away from the basketball court, Brink recently shared the charming origin story of her relationship with fiancé Ben Felter. In a TikTok post, she revealed a screenshot of their first interaction while both were students at Stanford University.
"Hey Cameron," Felter wrote in an email. "Wanted to chat you up but I think dms are a bit creepy. Not that an email is much better, so here is my number."
Brink captioned the post humorously, "I love that outlook brought us together lolol." The couple dated for several years before announcing their engagement in September 2024. In January, she celebrated his birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, saying, "You are my reason, & I love you more than life itself." While the wedding date remains private, Brink has indicated plans to marry at Stanford's Memorial Church.
This feature underscores Cameron Brink's multifaceted journey as an athlete, fashion icon, and individual, reinforcing her message that strength encompasses both physical prowess and personal authenticity.
