Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh by flagging off and distributing tractors to farmers in Lucknow on Tuesday. "Today, we have distributed tractors to proud farmers who had come to this event with their families. Today, you all can witness the progress of the state due to the hard work of our 'annadata' farmers," Yogi Adityanath said. He emphasized that prioritizing agriculture in governance has been a key focus over the past decade.

The Chief Minister pointed to significant policy changes introduced after 2014 that enabled farmers to become central to the government's agenda. A major highlight of his speech was the role of scientific tools in boosting farm productivity.
He specifically praised the Soil Health Card scheme, launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, for transforming agricultural practices. "With the help of the Soil Health Card, under the leadership of PM Modi, many farmers became aware of the health of our lands. Earlier, very few farmers used to have soil health cards," the CM noted.
According to him, this access to precise soil-quality information has empowered cultivators to make smarter decisions regarding:
- Crop selection
- Fertilizer application
- Overall farm management
These informed choices have led to improved yields and reduced input costs for farmers across the state.
