Young Mother's Tragic End in Dumka Well
A 25-year-old woman, who had been missing since Wednesday following a domestic argument with her husband, was discovered dead in a well behind her residence on Friday. The heartbreaking incident unfolded in Bagjori village, located within the Mahagama police station jurisdiction of Godda district.
The Disappearance After Marital Conflict
Kajal Kumari, who had been married to Mithun Bhagat since 2023, vanished from her home on the evening of November 5. The couple, who have a one-year-old son, had engaged in a heated argument when Mithun returned home late after purchasing groceries.
"I got delayed, and this upset her significantly. The situation escalated into a serious argument," Mithun explained to the police during questioning. According to his statement, Kajal left their residence around 6:30 pm and never returned.
Desperate Search Ends in Tragedy
Mithun immediately began searching for his wife throughout the neighborhood and even contacted Kajal's parents in Bhagalpur, Bihar. However, all efforts to locate the young mother proved unsuccessful.
"In previous instances, she had gone to her parents' home following arguments. Therefore, we didn't initially suspect anything serious might have occurred," Mithun stated in his police testimony.
The search came to a tragic conclusion on Friday morning when local villagers noticed a body floating in the well situated at the back of the couple's property. They promptly alerted the Mahagama police station about their grim discovery.
Police Investigation Underway
Manoj Kumar Pal, the officer in charge of Mahagama police station, confirmed that authorities are thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding Kajal's death. "We are examining all possibilities to determine whether this represents a case of suicide or if any foul play was involved," Pal stated.
The police have sent Kajal's body to Godda Sadar Hospital for a comprehensive postmortem examination. The results are expected to provide crucial evidence regarding the exact cause and manner of her death.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the small village community, raising concerns about domestic conflicts and their potentially devastating consequences. The police continue their investigation while the family mourns the loss of the young mother.
