In a heartfelt message on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his best wishes to the citizens. He highlighted the state's unique position, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, and its accelerating progress across various sectors.
"On the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Uttarakhand, my best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the state," the Prime Minister wrote. He described Uttarakhand as a "sacred land" that is now gaining new momentum in every field, including tourism. He concluded by wishing happiness, prosperity, and good health for the state's humble and hardworking people.
Amit Shah's Tribute to Spiritual and Cultural Heritage
Echoing the sentiments, Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X to offer his greetings. He emphasized Uttarakhand's profound spiritual legacy, cultural richness, and natural beauty, calling it a center of faith for the entire nation.
Shah acknowledged the state's leading role in national security, service, and environmental conservation. "May Uttarakhand continue to advance at the pace of good governance and public welfare and gain further momentum and strength," his post stated, expressing his hopes for the state's continued development.
A Quarter-Century of Statehood
Uttarakhand was carved out of Uttar Pradesh and officially became the 27th state of India on November 9, 2000. This day is commemorated annually as the state's Foundation Day, marking a significant milestone in the history of the region, often referred to as 'Devbhoomi' or the 'Land of the Gods'.
