UP's Economic Growth: 9 Lakh Govt Jobs in 9 Years, Says Yogi

Uttar Pradesh's Economic Transformation Under Yogi Adityanath's Leadership

In a significant address at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed that the state of Uttar Pradesh has witnessed the addition of approximately 9 lakh individuals to government services over the past nine years. This massive recruitment drive has played a pivotal role in bolstering the state's economic framework and reinforcing its contribution to India's national economy.

From Financial Struggles to Revenue Surplus

Speaking during a ceremony for the distribution of appointment letters to 665 nursing officers, the Chief Minister highlighted Uttar Pradesh's remarkable financial turnaround. "Earlier, the state struggled to pay salaries, but today it is a revenue-surplus state and among the top three economies in the country," Adityanath stated. He further emphasized that UP's per capita income has nearly tripled since 2016, underscoring a period of sustained economic growth and development.

Transparency in Recruitment and Governance

Adityanath assured that the recruitment process is meticulously monitored at every stage to ensure fairness and transparency. "Our third eye keeps watch on those who try to tamper with the recruitment process. We identify them early and take strict action," he declared. This vigilant approach aims to promote talent effectively, benefiting both the state and the nation.

Global Context and India's Resilience

The Chief Minister contrasted Uttar Pradesh's progress with the global scenario, particularly referencing the instability in West Asia. He noted that while many countries have declared emergencies due to conflicts, India continues to advance robustly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "The Gulf War has created an atmosphere of instability. Many countries have started reducing working hours and wages because their economies are failing," Adityanath explained. He pointed out that even the United States faces soaring petroleum prices, and neighboring nations like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are experiencing economic difficulties.

Infrastructure and Employment Initiatives

Adityanath highlighted key infrastructure projects that symbolize Uttar Pradesh's growth. The recent inauguration of the Noida airport by Prime Minister Modi is expected to generate direct employment for one lakh youth. "The region, once known for crime, has become a major investment hub with projects like film city, universities, and industrial parks," he remarked. Additionally, the foundation for a semiconductor unit underscores the state's focus on critical industries.

Healthcare and Social Development

The Chief Minister detailed advancements in healthcare, noting that institutions like RMLIMS, SGPGI, and KGMU were instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also mentioned that more women than men have been selected as nursing officers, and the government is operating 31 new nursing colleges. Furthermore, 500 families from a village on the India-Nepal border in Bahraich have been rehabilitated with houses, land rights, and financial assistance.

Combating Misinformation and Ensuring Progress

Adityanath addressed rumors about LPG supply and lockdowns, urging citizens not to panic. He criticized past leaders for avoiding Noida due to superstitions and hindering development. "These people who believe in superstitions dared to raise a finger on India's faith," he said, asserting that consistent efforts, including work on Sundays, are essential for sustained progress.

Enhanced Security and Forensic Capabilities

The state has significantly upgraded its security infrastructure, with cyber police stations now established in all 75 districts and cyber help desks in 1,681 police stations. Forensic labs and a State Institute of Forensic Sciences have also been set up, marking a substantial improvement from the single cyber police station that existed before 2017.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's address painted a picture of a transformed Uttar Pradesh, driven by job creation, economic resilience, and transparent governance, positioning it as a key player in India's growth story.
