A large tree fell on a house at Mathwada, Pilgao, in Bicholim, at around 1:30am on Wednesday, causing extensive damage to the roof and structure. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
Rescue and Debris Clearing Operations
Upon receiving the alert, Bicholim fire brigade personnel, led by Station Fire Officer (SFO) Rahul Desai, promptly arrived at the scene and began rescue and debris-clearing operations. Due to the severity of the damage, a second team was deployed to assist. The operation continued tirelessly until 2pm, when the debris was fully cleared, ensuring the safety of the area.
Local MLA Assures Immediate Compensation
Local MLA Premendra Shet visited the affected family and assured them of immediate compensation for the damage caused to the roof and other parts of the house. He emphasized that the government would provide all necessary support to help the family recover from the incident.
No injuries or loss of life were reported, which came as a relief to the residents and authorities. The quick response of the fire brigade and the assurance of compensation have brought some solace to the affected family.
