A devastating head-on collision between a heavy truck and a dumper triggered a massive fire on a national highway in Bihar on Monday. The tragic accident claimed three lives and left one person injured in Kishanganj district.

Vehicles Engulfed in Flames Within Seconds

The crash occurred on National Highway 327E under the jurisdiction of Sukhani police station. Eyewitnesses reported that both vehicles caught fire almost immediately after the impact. Flames shot over 10 feet into the air, accompanied by thick black smoke that rose approximately 20 feet high.

Firefighters Battle Blaze for Two Hours

Emergency responders faced a challenging situation as they worked to control the inferno. A total of five fire-fighting vehicles rushed to the scene. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze after a strenuous two-hour effort.

Victims Identified and Injured Helper Hospitalized

Sub-Divisional Police Officer-2 Manglesh Kumar Singh confirmed the tragic outcome. Three people lost their lives in the accident, including truck driver Dharmendra Singh, aged 35. The dumper driver and his helper also perished, though authorities have not yet identified them.

The truck's helper, Sahil Alam, survived the crash with injuries. Emergency personnel transported him to Sadar hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Vehicles Carrying Different Cargo on Opposing Routes

The truck involved in the collision was transporting a load of rice. It was traveling from Motihari to Guwahati when the accident occurred. The dumper was carrying boulders and moving in the opposite direction from Siliguri via Thakurganj toward Pauakhali.

Police Suspect Over-Speeding as Primary Cause

Initial investigations point to excessive speed as the likely cause of the fatal collision. Police officials stated that over-speeding appears to be the main factor behind the tragic incident on the busy national highway.
