Three Bengaluru College Students Die in Tragic Scooter-Truck Collision
A devastating road accident claimed the lives of three young students in Bengaluru on Saturday morning. The tragic incident occurred near Agalakote village in Devanahalli when a gearless scooter carrying three college students collided with a truck.
Details of the Fatal Accident
Police identified the victims as N Manikanta, aged 20, Srinivas R, and S Tousif. All three were Pre-University students from a private college located in Hunasamaranahalli. According to official reports, the accident happened around 11:20 AM on the Channahalli-Bettakote road.
Investigators revealed that approximately twenty students from the same college were traveling on two-wheelers along the road. Manikanta was operating the gearless scooter with Srinivas and Tousif riding as pillion passengers. For reasons still under investigation, Manikanta lost control of the vehicle.
The scooter jumped over the road median and fell onto the opposite lane. At that exact moment, a truck driven by a man named Ningappa was approaching. The truck crushed the students under its wheels, resulting in their immediate deaths.
Additional Road Accidents in Bengaluru
Saturday proved to be a particularly deadly day on Bengaluru's roads. In a separate incident in south Bengaluru, a 26-year-old tele-caller named S Nischal died after his sports motorbike collided with a tree.
This accident occurred on 24th Main Road in JP Nagar. Police stated that Nischal applied sudden brakes when a scooterist named Narayanaswamy unexpectedly entered the main road from a side lane. The abrupt braking caused Nischal's bike to hit the pavement first before striking a tree.
The impact was so severe that Nischal was thrown approximately six feet into the air. Despite wearing a helmet, he sustained fatal injuries to his forehead and died at the scene.
In yet another tragic event, a rashly driven truck killed a 30-year-old private company employee named Harsha. This collision took place at the Kodigehalli junction on the Kempegowda International Airport Expressway around 3:30 AM. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains at large.
Growing Concerns Over Road Safety
These consecutive accidents highlight serious concerns about road safety in and around Bengaluru. The deaths of three young students pursuing their education has sent shockwaves through their college community and the broader public.
Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding each incident. Authorities are examining factors such as road conditions, vehicle speeds, and driver behavior that may have contributed to these fatal collisions.
The tragic loss of these young lives underscores the urgent need for improved road safety measures, better driver education, and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations across Bengaluru's road network.
