Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday released copies of letters written by irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The letters seek an appointment to discuss the Tummidihatti barrage issue.
The Congress leaders slammed BJP state president N Ramchander Rao and other saffron party leaders for their comments that Revanth had not sought an appointment with the Maharashtra CM. Mahesh Goud alleged, “Minister Uttam wrote a letter on May 6, and CM Revanth on May 26 to Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP leaders may not like CM Revanth and the Congress government, but their utter negligence of not even trying to find out whether letters were written to Fadnavis only exposes their hatred against Telangana farmers.”
Kiran Kumar Reddy accused the BJP of opposing projects such as the metro rail phase-2, the regional ring road, and the Musi river rejuvenation. He alleged that BJP leaders were conspiring with BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao to stall development works initiated by the Congress government.
They demanded that the Centre procure all crops covered under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and questioned why the Centre procured higher quantities of paddy and other crops in Punjab and Haryana compared to Telangana.
