Telangana ACB Nabs 2 Officials in Bribery Stings: Rs 56,000 Seized
Telangana ACB arrests 2 public servants for bribery

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday struck against graft, arresting two public servants in separate operations for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes from citizens seeking basic government services.

Panchayat Secretary Caught Red-Handed

In the first case, officials from the ACB's Nalgonda range apprehended Barpati Krishna, the panchayat secretary of Ganugabanda village in Suryapet district. The arrest came shortly after he was accused of collecting a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a complainant.

The bribe money was demanded in exchange for issuing a house number for a newly constructed building. ACB investigators confirmed that the cash was recovered from Krishna's possession in the presence of independent witnesses. He faces charges of performing his public duty improperly and dishonestly to secure an illegal advantage.

The arrested official is scheduled to be produced before the first additional special judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Nampally for judicial remand.

Assistant Manager & Driver Trapped in Rice Mill Case

In a more significant case from Mahabubnagar range, the ACB laid a trap for Kumba Jagan Mohan, the assistant manager (Accounts) and in-charge district manager at the civil supplies corporation office in Wanaparthy.

According to the bureau, Jagan Mohan sought a bribe of Rs 50,000 for allotting government custom-milled rice to a newly established rice mill, M/s Samba Shiva Agro Industries of Miraspally. The illicit payment was allegedly collected on his behalf by his private driver, Lavudya Laxman Naik, from the complainant.

ACB teams successfully retrieved the bribe amount. Both Jagan Mohan and Naik were arrested and will be presented before the ACB special court in Nampally for remand proceedings.

Ongoing Fight Against Corruption

Both cases remain under active investigation as the Anti-Corruption Bureau continues its crackdown. The bureau has reiterated its appeal to the public to report any demands for bribes.
