TDP Launches 45-Day Doorstep Campaign to Showcase Govt Achievements

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) working president Nara Lokesh has called upon party leaders and cadre to take the achievements of the coalition government to every household and create awareness among people about the welfare and development initiatives implemented over the last two years. The state government will undertake a door-step campaign from June 25 to August 10.

Lokesh held a video conference with TDP MPs, MLAs and senior leaders from the party central office in Mangalagiri and directed the cadre to actively participate in the outreach programme. He emphasized that every leader, from ministers and legislators to booth-level workers, should go among the people and explain the good work done by the coalition government.

As part of the campaign, leaders will visit every doorstep across the state for 45 days from June 25 to August 10. Lokesh instructed the party cadre to distribute pamphlets and booklets highlighting the government's achievements so that the benefits of various schemes reach the people. He said the programme should be carried out by coordinating with the Jana Sena and BJP cadres as per the directions of party chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Lokesh said Naidu is known as a brand ambassador for development and added that the responsibility of the cadre is to take both development works and welfare initiatives to the public. He listed schemes including Thalliki Vandanam, free LPG cylinders under Deepam-2, the NTR Bharosa pension scheme providing Rs 4,000 monthly pensions, services for auto drivers and Annadata Sukhibhava among the major initiatives implemented by the coalition government.

“Several welfare programmes have been successfully implemented between 2014-19 as well, but we failed to communicate these achievements to the people, which led to our debacle in 2019 elections,” Lokesh said. He stressed that the current campaign aims to avoid a repeat of that mistake.

Lokesh said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with ministers, MPs and MLAs, would also participate in the door-to-door campaign. Before that, victory celebrations would be organised at parliamentary and assembly constituency levels until June 20 to highlight the coalition government's achievements among the people.

Lokesh also asked party workers to remain alert and ensure that no genuine voter is left out during the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He said training programmes have already been conducted for cadre and booth level agents (BLAs) have been appointed to monitor the process. “The responsibility of leaders is to ensure that not a single vote is lost,” Lokesh said, directing MLAs to stay in constant touch with BLAs and resolve issues at the ground level. He added that serious problems related to voter verification should be brought to the attention of the voter verification cell set up at the TDP central office.
