Survey Work Comes to a Standstill in Karnataka's Huvinahadagali Due to Surveyors’ Strike
A total of 3,170 survey-related applications remain unresolved at the Land Survey Office in Huvinahadagali, Karnataka, as surveyors have gone on strike, bringing all work to a halt. Farmers, who have been making repeated visits to the office to get their land surveys completed, have been left frustrated and without any resolution.
The strike, which began recently, has severely impacted the functioning of the Land Survey Office. With no surveyors available to process applications, farmers are unable to proceed with essential land-related tasks, such as property registration, loan applications, and agricultural planning. Many farmers have expressed their distress, stating that the delay is causing significant financial and operational hardships.
Local authorities have acknowledged the situation but have yet to provide a timeline for when the strike might end or alternative arrangements for farmers. The unresolved applications continue to pile up, adding to the growing backlog. Farmers are urging the government to intervene and resolve the dispute at the earliest to restore normalcy.
The strike highlights the critical role surveyors play in rural administration and the impact of labor disputes on everyday life in agricultural communities. As the situation drags on, the pressure on both the administration and the striking surveyors is likely to increase.
