SP Threatens Mass FIRs Over Alleged Fake Voter Drive by BJP in UP
SP to File Mass FIRs Against BJP Over Fake Voter Allegations

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has declared a statewide legal offensive against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, accusing it of orchestrating a systematic drive to add fraudulent votes to the electoral rolls. Party president Akhilesh Yadav announced on Saturday that the SP is prepared to lodge a large number of First Information Reports (FIRs) against attempts to manipulate the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.

Legal Blueprint for Mass Complaints

Revealing a strategic plan, Akhilesh Yadav stated that a committee of top legal experts has already drafted a proforma for the police complaint. This ready-to-use document is being dispatched to the party's Booth Level Agents (BLAs) across Uttar Pradesh. The agents have been provided with specific guidelines to identify discrepancies and missing links to determine if a case is fit for an FIR.

The former Chief Minister alleged that the state government has secretly instructed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to add 200 votes each to meet unofficial targets. "People sitting in the government have issued instructions to the BLOs. It is because of this reason that we have got a proforma made for lodging of FIRs," Yadav asserted during a media interaction at the party headquarters in Lucknow.

Court Action if Police Refuse

Akhilesh Yadav made it clear that the party will not back down if the police hesitate to register the cases. He confirmed that the SP's legal cell has been activated and put on alert. In the event of non-cooperation from the police, the party's law wing will immediately move the respective district courts to seek directions for the mandatory registration of FIRs. Party leaders emphasized that once an FIR is successfully lodged, they will pursue the matter rigorously for further legal action.

Yadav escalated his allegations by claiming that the BJP has deployed officials of a particular ideology to specific districts to pressure BLOs into meeting these targets. "The government may not have mapped the SIR votes, but the BJP has first mapped officials and then sent them to specific districts," he charged, demanding that the government release a list of such officials.

Aadhaar Linkage and Financial Aid for Families

The SP chief also pointed out a critical discrepancy in voter data, highlighting the difference between the total voter counts with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the state election officials, despite both lists being prepared by the same BLOs. He proposed a solution, stating, "The easiest way to check duplicate votes is to link them with Aadhaar." He urged the government to link names in the electoral rolls with Aadhaar numbers to ensure transparency and eliminate duplicates.

In a related and compassionate move, Akhilesh Yadav presented financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of two BLOs who died recently. The party claims the deaths were due to the immense stress of meeting SIR targets. Cheques were given to Babli Devi, wife of Moradabad BLO Sarvesh Singh Jatav, and Kanchan Devi, wife of Deoria BLO Ashish Kumar, at the party office before the press conference.
