Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi has been booked by police following a complaint over his alleged 'anti-national' remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The action was taken based on a complaint filed by Satyendra Pratap Gupta, the BJP district media in-charge.
Complaint Alleges Caste Hatred
In his complaint, Gupta accused Lodhi of stoking caste hatred through his comments directed at the Prime Minister. The BJP leader claimed that Lodhi's statement was not only anti-national but also intended to divide society on caste lines.
Police Register Case
Following the complaint, the local police registered a case against the SP MP under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is currently underway, with authorities examining the context and content of Lodhi's remarks.
The incident has sparked a political row, with the Samajwadi Party defending its MP and accusing the BJP of misinterpreting his words. Party leaders have called the complaint a politically motivated move to silence opposition voices.
Ajendra Singh Lodhi, a prominent figure in Uttar Pradesh politics, has yet to issue a formal statement on the matter. The case adds to the ongoing tensions between the ruling BJP and opposition parties in the state.
