Shatrughan Sinha Vows Not to Leave Mamata Banerjee

In a show of solidarity amid the ongoing exodus within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), party MP Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday declared that he will not abandon party chief Mamata Banerjee during her challenging period. "I will not leave Mamata Banerjee in her difficult time. TMC chief Mamata Banerjee stood by me in my difficult time," Sinha stated.

This assertion comes in the wake of reports that Sinha's name was included in a list of 19 rebel TMC MPs allegedly attempting to form a separate faction within the party. The development underscores the internal strife the TMC is currently grappling with, as several leaders have recently departed from the party.

Earlier in the day, Sinha also extended his greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office. In a social media post, Sinha referred to Modi as a "friend and guide" and wrote, "In true sportsman spirit, wishing our friend & guide of society/nation hon'ble PM Narendra Modi best wishes on completing 12yrs in office, perhaps the longest tenure, ever. Wish you a long, healthy & prosperous life ahead. Jai Hind!"

Sinha's dual stance—pledging loyalty to Banerjee while praising Modi—reflects the complex political dynamics he navigates as a former BJP member who joined the TMC. His remarks come at a time when the TMC is facing significant challenges, including defections and factionalism.
