Tragedy Strikes Political Family in Bihar
The quiet morning of Sunday turned tragic in Simri Bakhtiarpur area when the body of a 17-year-old boy was discovered under mysterious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as Pritam Kumar, son of Surendra Yadav, who serves as the president of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Saharsa town.
Discovery of the Body and Family's Anguish
According to police reports, the grim discovery was made near a bathroom located in the backyard of the family residence. Pritam, who was an intermediate student, lived with his father in the village. The family includes two sons and a daughter, with Pritam being one of the children.
Nutan Devi, Pritam's mother, recounted the horrifying moment she found her son. "My son used to sleep inside the house at night along with other family members," she stated. "In the morning, when I went near the bathroom behind the house after giving fodder to the cattle, I saw him lying there."
The discovery immediately raised alarms throughout the neighborhood. Local residents quickly gathered at the scene, and the young boy was rushed to a nearby hospital. Medical professionals at the facility examined him and declared him dead upon arrival.
Police Investigation and Conflicting Theories
Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the incident. Simri Bakhtiyarpur SHO Amarnath Kumar, inspector Md Sujauddin, and SDPO Mukesh Kumar Thakur all reached the hospital to initiate investigations into the mysterious death.
Police examination revealed no visible external injuries on the body, raising more questions about the cause of death. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Adding complexity to the case, the doctor who conducted the preliminary inquest suggested that the death might have resulted from a brain haemorrhage. However, the family has strongly contradicted this theory, alleging murder and demanding justice for their son.
Simri Bakhtiyarpur SDPO Mukesh Kumar Thakur provided additional context, revealing that "About a month ago, Surendra was named as an accused in an assault incident that occurred in the village." This previous incident adds another layer to the ongoing investigation.
Despite the family's murder allegations, authorities note that no formal written complaint has been submitted by them yet. The SHO emphasized that "We will investigate further in this direction after receiving a formal complaint from the family."
The case continues to develop as authorities await the official postmortem report and potential formal complaint from the grieving family, who seek answers about the tragic loss of their 17-year-old son under such mysterious circumstances.
