Jharkhand Gears Up for Republic Day 2026: 12 Tableaux, 15 Platoons to Showcase State's Glory
Republic Day 2026 in Ranchi: 12 Govt Tableaux to Highlight Schemes

The state of Jharkhand is making elaborate preparations for the Republic Day 2026 celebrations, with the main event scheduled to be held at the historic Morabadi Ground in the capital city, Ranchi. The festivities will prominently feature the state's developmental journey and cultural tapestry through a grand parade and tableaux.

Grand Parade and Cultural Showcase

The ceremonial programme will be a vibrant display of discipline and heritage. Around 15 parade platoons and three bands will participate in the march past, setting a solemn and patriotic tone for the day. However, the centrepiece of the attraction will be the 12 departmental tableaux that will roll out during the ceremony.

These tableaux are designed to showcase key schemes and policies of the state government, effectively communicating its achievements to the public. Alongside governance, the floats will also highlight Jharkhand's rich art, culture, traditions, and historical heritage, offering a visual feast of the state's identity.

Flag Hoisting and Leadership Roles

As per established protocol, the ceremonial unfurling of the national tricolour will be conducted by two dignitaries at separate locations. Governor Santosh Gangwar will hoist the flag at the main ceremony in Ranchi's Morabadi Ground. Simultaneously, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will perform the honour in Dumka, ensuring the Republic Day spirit permeates across the state.

Rigorous Preparations and Directives

To ensure the event's seamless execution, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri recently chaired a comprehensive review meeting. He has issued strict directives to all concerned departments to finalise arrangements within the stipulated deadlines.

The preparations are meticulous and wide-ranging:

  • Construction of waterproof pandals and viewing galleries.
  • Adequate and segregated seating arrangements for general visitors and VVIPs.
  • Proper levelling of the ground and installation of barricades.
  • Setting up of the main stage and sound system towers.
  • Arrangement for an uninterrupted power supply using soundproof generators.

Parade rehearsals are scheduled from January 18 to January 23, 2026, with the final full-dress rehearsal taking place on January 24.

Ensuring Safety, Comfort, and Order

Emphasising public convenience and safety, DC Bhajantri has mandated robust on-ground facilities. These include the provision of proper drinking water, sufficient toilet complexes, ambulances with medical staff, and comprehensive fire safety measures at the venue.

Traffic and parking have also been planned in detail. Authorities have been instructed to create designated parking areas and make special arrangements for the trailers and large vehicles that will transport the tableaux to the ground. The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has been tasked with completing intensive cleanliness drives at the venue and along all major approach roads.

With these extensive preparations underway, Jharkhand is poised to celebrate Republic Day 2026 with great fervour, reflecting both its administrative progress and its profound cultural legacy.
