Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma delivered a scathing critique of the previous Congress administration while showcasing his government's accomplishments during a public address in Bhilwara district's Mandalgarh constituency on Saturday.
A Stark Contrast in Governance
After reviewing urban and rural service camps at the PM Shri Government School in Mandalgarh, Sharma addressed a gathering. He drew a sharp contrast between the two regimes. The Chief Minister alleged that under Congress rule, official work was distributed based on "appearance" and favoritism. In contrast, he stated his Bharatiya Janata Party government has established uniform policies for all assembly constituencies, ensuring equitable development.
Sharma firmly reiterated his administration's guiding principle: "neither will I eat, nor will I let others eat." This, he explained, underscores a zero-tolerance stance towards corruption. As evidence, he pointed to the Jal Jeevan Mission scam, where ministers and officials were imprisoned following strict action.
Tangible Results: From Exam Integrity to Crime Reduction
The Chief Minister presented data to substantiate his claims of improved governance. He asserted that in the two years since his government took charge, not a single examination paper has been leaked. In ongoing investigations into past paper leak cases, authorities have registered 138 First Information Reports (FIRs) and arrested 394 accused individuals.
Furthermore, Sharma claimed the state has witnessed a significant 15% reduction in overall crime rates compared to the tenure of the Congress government. On the economic front, he highlighted the introduction of 28 new policies designed to boost Rajasthan's economy and ensure transparency in recruitment examinations.
Welfare and Women Empowerment in Focus
Beyond law and order, the Chief Minister shed light on key welfare initiatives. A prominent focus was on enhancing women's economic empowerment. Sharma detailed efforts to transform "Lakhpati Didis" into "Million Didis", a scheme aimed at substantially increasing the income and financial independence of women across the state.
He also mentioned that prosecution sanction has been secured in 34 distinct corruption cases, signaling continued vigilance against malpractice.
Upon his arrival at the Mandalgarh helipad, Sharma was welcomed by a delegation including District Collector Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav, MP Damodar Agarwal, local MLA Gopal Khandelwal, and BJP district president Prashant Mewara. The event was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, several BJP MLAs, and thousands of public representatives from Bhilwara district.
