Protests erupted across Bihar on Monday following the tragic death of a medical aspirant at a girls' hostel in Patna. The incident triggered massive public outrage over alleged sexual violence and police negligence in handling the case.
Congress Leaders Lead Demonstrations Against State Government
A large number of Congress workers staged a major demonstration near the Income Tax roundabout in Patna. The protest was led by AICC in-charge for Bihar Krishna Allavaru and state Congress president Rajesh Ram.
The protesters raised strong slogans against the state government and burned an effigy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. They accused the police of serious negligence from the very beginning of the case.

He demanded immediate justice for the girl and her family members. Allavaru questioned why the accused had not been arrested yet. He further alleged that forming a Special Investigation Team would defeat the purpose of a fair probe.
"Such teams are often used to suppress facts and protect influential people," Allavaru claimed during his address to the media.

In a separate but related protest, members of the Prem Youth Foundation Patna joined local residents for an 'Aakrosh March' near Ramgulam Chowk at Gandhi Maidan. The participants expressed deep frustration with the authorities.
The protesters claimed that authorities attempted to conceal crucial facts in this case. They argued that a timely and thorough investigation could have prevented the current escalation of public anger.
Another protest march was organized by AISF members at Mahua Bazar in Vaishali. District president Prakash Priyadarshi led this demonstration, accusing authorities of failing to protect students and guard their dignity in Bihar.
Priyadarshi alleged a dangerous nexus between Patna police and criminals attempting to suppress this sexual assault case. He issued a clear warning that AISF would intensify its agitation if justice was not delivered swiftly.
