Nitish Kumar's Samriddhi Yatra Starts Friday in Bihar

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar is set to launch his "Samriddhi Yatra" this Friday. The journey starts from West Champaran district. This marks the first phase of a statewide tour that will span eight days.

Tour Schedule and Districts

Over the next week, Nitish Kumar will visit nine districts across Bihar. The schedule is packed with public engagements and administrative reviews.

Detailed Itinerary

The Chief Minister's itinerary includes East Champaran on January 17. He moves to Sitamarhi and Sheohar on January 19. Gopalganj follows on January 20, with Siwan on January 21. Saran district is scheduled for January 22, Muzaffarpur on January 23, and Vaishali on January 24.

This yatra holds significance as it is his first statewide tour after the assembly elections last year. Interestingly, it is his 16th overall yatra since becoming Chief Minister.

Focus on Development Projects

During the Samriddhi Yatra, Nitish Kumar will conduct spot inspections of ongoing projects. These projects are part of the earlier Pragati Yatra and the Saat Nishchay-3 programme.

He will lay foundation stones for new schemes. The Chief Minister will also inaugurate and commission completed projects. Public interaction programmes, known as 'jan samvad', are a key component. District-level schemes will undergo thorough reviews.

West Champaran Preparations

District Magistrate Taranjot Singh confirmed that all administrative preparations are complete for the West Champaran visit. Elaborate security arrangements are in place.

Nitish Kumar will be accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Water Resources Department Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary will also join him.

First Day Activities

On Friday, the Chief Minister will land at a helipad near the Kumarbagh Industrial Area in Chanpatia block at 11:30 AM. He will visit the industrial area and review the functioning of various production units.

Later, the helicopter will depart for the helipad at Ramana Maidan in Bettiah. A presentation on the progress of projects from the Pragati Yatra is planned.

Foundation Stones and Inaugurations

In West Champaran alone, Nitish Kumar will lay foundation stones for 125 projects. These projects are worth Rs 153 crore. He will inaugurate 36 other projects valued at Rs 29 crore.

An agricultural fair showcasing farm machinery and equipment for farmers will be inaugurated. A review meeting and public interaction programme are also scheduled for the day.

Historical Context

The previous pre-election tour, titled Pragati Yatra, saw the announcement of over 400 projects. The cabinet later sanctioned these projects for implementation. The total cost amounted to Rs 50,000 crore.

This new Samriddhi Yatra continues the focus on development and public engagement. It underscores the government's commitment to reviewing and accelerating project implementation across Bihar.
