Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a significant visit to Sidhi Ghat in Bakhtiyarpur on Sunday. He personally examined the ongoing development work along the Ganga riverfront. The CM took a detailed look at the facilities currently available for devotees who frequent the ghat.
Personal Connection to the Site
During his inspection, Nitish Kumar revealed a personal connection to Sidhi Ghat. He mentioned bathing at this very location during his childhood days. This personal history informed the planning process for the current development project.
"A comprehensive blueprint has been prepared for the ongoing plan," stated the Chief Minister. He emphasized that today, devotees enjoy smooth and easy access to the ghat. They can comfortably take baths and perform their religious rituals and prayers.
Religious Observances and Tributes
Following his review of the development work, the Chief Minister performed 'puja archana' at the Shri Radhe Krishna temple situated at the ghat. He offered prayers for the peace and material prosperity of all Bihar residents.
Nitish Kumar also paid his respects at the 'smadhi sthal' of freedom fighter and former MP Sheelbhadra Yaji. He honored both Sheelbhadra Yaji and his wife Balkeshwri Yaji at their memorial site.
Official Delegation Accompanies CM
The Chief Minister was not alone during this visit. He was accompanied by several key officials and political figures. JD(U) national working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha joined the inspection tour.
Local administrative leaders also participated in the visit. Patna District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma were present. Other officials and staff members completed the delegation that toured the ghat facilities.
The visit underscores the state government's continued focus on improving religious and public infrastructure along the Ganga. Development of riverfront areas remains a priority for enhancing accessibility and facilities for citizens and devotees alike.
