PM Modi to Attend DGP Conference in Naya Raipur, City Becomes Mini-PMO
Naya Raipur Hosts DGP Conference, PM Modi Attends

The city of Naya Raipur in Chhattisgarh is set to undergo a remarkable transformation, temporarily functioning as a miniature Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for three days. This significant change coincides with the 60th All India Directors General of Police (DGP) and Inspectors General of Police (IGP) Conference, a premier security gathering being hosted by the state for the very first time.

A High-Profile Gathering of Security Brass

The conference, scheduled from November 28 to 30, will see the attendance of the country's top security and intelligence officials. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive in Raipur on the evening of November 28 and will actively participate in the conference on the 29th and 30th. He will be joined by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The event is expected to host around 300 VVIPs, including Director Generals of Police from all states and union territories, alongside approximately 20 DG/ADG-rank officers from various central paramilitary forces. To manage this large-scale influx, the state administration has made extensive logistical arrangements, including a fleet of 650 vehicles. All accommodations for the dignitaries are being arranged within government buildings in Naya Raipur, with no participants staying in private hotels.

Naya Raipur's Infrastructure Takes Center Stage

The main conference proceedings will be held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur campus. For the duration of the event, the Speaker's House in Naya Raipur will serve as a temporary PMO. Prime Minister Modi will reside at the Speaker’s House (M-1), which is being specially prepared to meet the stringent security and protocol standards of the Special Protection Group (SPG).

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be accommodated at the bungalow of state Finance Minister O P Choudhary (M-11). This strategic use of key government buildings underscores the city's readiness to host events of national importance and showcases its developed infrastructure.

Unprecedented Security Blanket for the City

With the nation's top leadership and security brass converging in one location, Naya Raipur will become one of the most heavily guarded zones in India for these three days. Security has been significantly tightened across the city, with a multi-layered protection plan in effect.

A massive force of approximately 2,000 security personnel will be deployed solely in the area between the Speaker’s House and the IIM campus. Separate security companies will be stationed round-the-clock around the residences of the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, the NSA, and the Intelligence Bureau chief.

The overall security responsibility is being managed by an ADG-rank officer, supported by a team of half a dozen Inspectors General (IGs), about a dozen Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and several Superintendents of Police (SPs). Key officers, including DGP Arun Dev Gautam and ADG (Intelligence) Amit Kumar, are personally monitoring the preparations and conducting continuous review meetings to ensure a flawless event.

This conference not only highlights Chhattisgarh's capability to host a high-stakes national event but also places Naya Raipur firmly on the map as a city equipped with the culture, infrastructure, and hospitality to welcome the country's most important figures under a blanket of supreme security.
