In a concerning development from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the family of the late Parli businessman Mahadev Munde has formally requested police protection following a threat complaint. Dnyaneshwari Munde, the widow of Mahadev Munde, submitted a detailed application to local authorities on February 20, explicitly naming Valmik Karad and his two sons as potential threats to her family's safety.

In her official complaint, Dnyaneshwari Munde stated that Karad and his sons should be held directly responsible if any harm comes to her or any family members. "While my son was returning from tuition classes on Shiv Jayanti, he was forcibly stopped and physically assaulted by an unknown individual," Dnyaneshwari Munde told journalists. This incident has heightened the family's security concerns and prompted their urgent request for protection.

Raghunath Nachan, the officer in charge of Parli police station, confirmed that authorities have registered a non-cognisable offence against a youth named Bala in connection with the alleged attack on Munde's son. "The whereabouts of the accused remain unknown at this time," Nachan stated. "According to the victim's account, the accused verbally abused him and slapped him during the confrontation."
The police are actively investigating both the assault complaint and the broader threat allegations against Karad and his associates. This comes against the backdrop of Mahadev Munde's murder on October 20, 2023, for which a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was recently formed to pursue the case.
