Mumbai BMC Polls 2026: Find Your Polling Booth Online Using EPIC Number
Mumbai BMC Polls 2026: Find Polling Booth by EPIC Number

Mumbai voters need to prepare for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections this Thursday. Across Maharashtra, twenty-nine municipal corporations will hold polls on the same day. The stakes are particularly high in five major civic bodies: BMC, Thane, Nagpur, Pune, and Pimpri Chinchwad.

Before heading out to cast your vote, you must know your exact polling booth and its location. This step is mandatory for all electors. The voter's slip is not compulsory, but it helps polling staff find names on the electoral roll quickly. It also reduces waiting time at the booth.

How to Search Your Polling Booth Location Online Using EPIC Number

Follow this step-by-step guide to find your polling booth details through the official website. You will need your EPIC number, which is your voter ID card number.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to the Maharashtra State Election Commission website. This is the primary portal for all election-related information in the state.

Step 2: Access the Voter Search Page

Click on the "voter search" option. This action will redirect you to the SEC's dedicated voter list website. The site is specifically designed for checking voter details.

Step 3: Choose the Search Method

Select "search name in voter list" on the new page. You will then see options to search by EPIC number or by name.

Step 4: Select EPIC Number Wise

Choose "EPIC Number Wise" from the available choices. If you prefer, you can also select "Name Wise" and enter your full name instead.

Step 5: Enter Your Details

Now, you need to provide specific information. First, select your local body type. Options include Municipal Corporation, municipality, Nagar Panchayat, or Zilla Panchayat.

Next, pick your district and the exact name of your local body. Then, enter your EPIC number carefully. Click the search button to proceed.

Your voter records will appear on the screen. The display will show your polling booth name, its complete address, and voter slip details. Make a note of this information for reference on polling day.

Alternative Method: Voter Helpline App

Voters can also use the Election Commission's Voter Helpline App. This mobile application offers a convenient way to search for your name in the electoral roll.

Download the app from the official website eci.gov.in/voter-helpline-app/. Once installed, you can find all necessary details, including polling booth location and voter slip information.

Important Voting Instructions for Mumbai

After confirming your name and booth location, remember to carry a valid photo ID card to the polling station. Acceptable documents include Aadhaar card, PAN card, or passport.

Mumbai follows a unique single-member ward system. Each ward elects only one corporator, and every voter casts a single vote. This system differs from other municipal corporations in Maharashtra.

In the other twenty-eight corporations, voters will experience a three or four-member ward system. This marks a significant departure from the traditional one-ward-one-corporator model used in Mumbai.

Voting will conclude on Thursday. The counting of votes is scheduled for Friday, January 16. The results will determine the winners in each ward. They will also pave the way for forming the new civic administration in Mumbai and across Maharashtra.
