Madhya Pradesh Government Executes Major Late-Night IAS Reshuffle
In a swift and strategic move, the state government of Madhya Pradesh carried out a comprehensive administrative reshuffle late on Saturday night, transferring a total of 11 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across several crucial departments. This significant overhaul has brought about key changes in vital sectors such as health, forest, and public relations, aiming to enhance governance and operational efficiency.
Key Appointments and Transfers in Major Departments
Ashok Barnwal, who previously served as an additional chief secretary, has been shifted to the health department. He replaces Sandeep Yadav, who has now been posted as the principal secretary of the forest department. This move is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the state's healthcare initiatives and environmental conservation efforts.
In another prominent development, Manish Singh has returned to his role as the commissioner of the public relations department. Notably, he will continue to hold additional charge as the transport secretary, consolidating his responsibilities in two key areas of public administration.
Additional Significant Changes in Administrative Posts
Deepak Saxena, who had taken charge as the public relations commissioner in September, has been moved out of this position. He has been appointed as the excise commissioner, replacing Abhijeet Agrawal. Agrawal, in turn, has been named the managing director of the state cooperative marketing federation, a role that will focus on boosting agricultural marketing and cooperative ventures.
Among other notable transfers, Ajay Gupta has been shifted from his post as the director of farmer welfare and agriculture development. He has been appointed as the managing director of the eastern region power distribution company based in Jabalpur, a critical position for ensuring reliable electricity supply in the region.
Umashankar Bhargav has returned from Raj Bhavan to assume the role of director of farmer welfare and agriculture development, bringing his experience to support agricultural development and farmer welfare programs.
Further Administrative Adjustments Across Districts
The reshuffle also included several district-level appointments. Sunil Dubey, the CEO of Bhind district panchayat, has been appointed as the deputy secretary to the governor, a role that involves assisting in gubernatorial functions and administrative support.
Sanghmitra Gautam, who served as the deputy secretary in the higher education department, has been posted as the CEO of the Alirajpur district panchayat, tasked with overseeing local governance and development projects in the district.
Additionally, Nanda Bhalawe Kushre, the CEO of Agar Malwa district panchayat, has been appointed as the additional project director in the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan. This role will involve enhancing secondary education initiatives across the state.
Kamal Solanki, the deputy secretary in the school education department, has been posted as the CEO of the Raisen district panchayat, focusing on improving educational infrastructure and administrative efficiency at the district level.
This late-night reshuffle underscores the government's commitment to dynamic and responsive administration, with these changes expected to streamline operations and address key challenges in various sectors across Madhya Pradesh.
