Political Leaders Rally Behind Family of Deceased NEET Student in Patna
Political figures from different parties have stepped forward to support the family of a NEET student from Jehanabad. The young woman faced a horrific sexual assault and later died at a girls' hostel in Patna. Both Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor and the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) announced their separate commitments to pursue justice in this distressing case.
Prashant Kishor Meets Grieving Family, Vows Action
Prashant Kishor traveled to Jehanabad on Friday. He personally met with the victim's parents and brother to gather firsthand details about the incident. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Kishor shared the mother's unwavering resolve.
"The mother of the victim is ready to fight for justice for her daughter," Kishor stated. "She is in no mood to compromise. She will not fall for any kind of allurement."
Kishor revealed his immediate plan to facilitate a meeting between the mother and senior police officials in Patna. "Maybe tomorrow, I will arrange her meeting with either the Patna SP or SSP," he said. "She wants a proper investigation and punishment for the guilty, whoever they may be."
Allegations of Police Intimidation and Cover-Up
Kishor made serious allegations against specific police personnel involved in the initial investigation. He claimed that officers, including the investigation officer and the Station House Officer, tried to discourage the family from seeking justice.
"They told the mother it would take around fifteen years for justice," Kishor alleged. "Therefore, she should withdraw by taking money. This behavior is very obnoxious."
Kishor also asserted that the police first attempted to frame the incident as a simple case of suicide. This claim found support from another political quarter.
CPI(ML) Joins the Fight, Points to Post-Mortem Report
Meanwhile, CPI(ML) state secretary Kunal added his voice to the growing outcry. He stated that the post-mortem report has seriously challenged the police's initial narrative.
"The post-mortem report has put the police in the dock," Kunal said. He alleged that police insisted on labeling it a suicide case. They attempted to cover up the incident even when the victim's parents strongly suspected rape.
Kunal connected this case to a broader concerning trend. He claimed that incidents of violence against women have increased significantly after the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
The CPI(ML) has pledged its full support to the grieving parents. "We stand with the parents of the NEET girl student," Kunal declared. "We will launch a sustained agitation. We demand punishment for the guilty and action against police negligence."
The tragic death of the NEET aspirant in Patna has now become a focal point for political action. Leaders from across the spectrum are uniting to demand a transparent investigation and accountability. The family's quest for justice has garnered significant political backing, putting pressure on local authorities in Bihar.
